Most Android reading apps handle one or two formats well and quietly refuse the rest. That is fine until you have a PDF from a course, an old MOBI from a Kindle purchase, and an EPUB from a public-domain library, plus three apps to keep them in.

Reading offline, and what that means here
Aurora Reader needs no account and no connection to open a book you already own. Your library, reading progress, highlights and settings live on the device.
The optional Premium features that do use the network (Google Drive sync, dictionary lookup and OPDS catalog browsing) are additions, not requirements. Switch off mobile data and the app keeps working exactly as before.

Can I read ebooks offline on Android?
Yes. Once a book is in your library it opens with no connection, and your reading progress and annotations are stored on the device. Sync, dictionary lookup and OPDS browsing are the only features that use the network, and all three are optional.

Can I import books already stored on my phone?
Yes. Import from the file picker, or open a file from any other app with “Open with”. SHA-256 hashing detects a book you have already added instead of creating a duplicate.
